Best Amp I Have Ever Had

I still own it since 1991. has problems with volume, need to increase volume to get both channels working. and some dirt in input selectors.

I look forward to having it fixed since its the best i have had.

Nice Non-boom Bass

I have owned two vx500s, two vx600s and have now just purchased the vx700.

All have been purchased second hand and then re-sold within the last 4 years.

The vx700 is by far the best sound quality of the 3 models enabling me to use it in 'power amp direct' mode without the base boom that the others produce in this mode (speakers I am using are Monitor Audio Bronze BR2). The sheer size and weight of the 700 is greater too so beware of using it in a shallow hifi cabinet as it could be too deep to close the glass door.

I have owned many Technics and other Japanese amps and the VX700 performs by far the best. You can pick one up on Ebay for anything between £130 and £400. Mine os in mint condition and came with manual and original box /packing.

I've Owned My Technics Su Vx-700 Since 1991 And It

I've owned my Technics SU VX-700 since 1991 and it has performed ever since. I'm really pleased with it.

I've got one question and hopefully there's one who knows yhe answer.

The input and output selectors seems to be not fully connected because the sound from the speakers are interfered. This can be fixed by turning the selectors from one side to the other. But this only fixes it for some time.

Any tips on how to fix this? Can it be because of durt and dust?

Technics Is No Match For Any Audio System. I Am St

Technics is no match for any audio system. I am still using the 1970 su-8044 model. I am really surprised to see even after 30 years, I am not able to find a match for technics amplifiers. Great quality product. Well recommend Technics SUVX700.

Technics Su-vx700: I Have Owned Many Technics Amps

Technics SU-VX700: I have owned many Technics amps and other audio equipment in the past, so buying the SU-VX700 second hand seemed to be a good move. I plugged it in and fired it up and it appears to live up to Technics fame. Plenty of punch and it sounds good too. People seem too ready to discard their straight forward amps in favour of Home Theatre amps because of the extra channels and all the "sound effects" and bells and whistles they have, but, when it comes to good clean HiFi audio reproduction, 9 out of 10 of these home theatre amps/receivers just can't foot the bill (live up to their claims), no matter what the brand name. Technics have been around for a very long time now and most of their amps have certainly set a hard pace to keep up with, given their lowish prices (bang per buck - so to speak). I have noticed too, that some of their amps get a little warm and there has been the odd problem with some of them cutting out as they warn up - some almost hot enough to fry eggs on, but, no such event with the SU-VX700 as it stayed cool all the time. This is usually due to the way the output transistors fire. In the past, with Technics amps, there has been an abundance of real punchy bass and a "loudness" button to boot. Although the VX700 has a loudness button, the bass seems to be a little less punchy than my last amp I had but as the much lower bass is required, it soon appears right on queue. I suspect Technics have a much better amp here than some of the earlier models I have owned as it seems to have removed any over emphasis on boomy bass in favour off more accurate bass reproduction.

It is a big amp and has massive cooling fins and a few large capacitors inside it and looks like it was made for real business.

I would suggest that you treat this amp with care as it, like many other amps, is part of a dying breed which has been all but superseded by home theatre amps. Not good for the true audio enthusiast. Home theatre amps just don't cut it. True amps like The SU-VX700 do..!!!

This Is A Pretty Amazing Amplifier Giving Out 690w

This is a pretty amazing amplifier giving out 690W. I am very impressed only it doesn't have a remote control, but then it makes up for that with the shear output this 'baby' gives. Well done for technics!
