Marantz PM4200

did not last even 30 min at full power before the thermal fuse cut out or maybe something worse as basically it's turning on... Need some time to check or whatever, party is over.

The amp is impressive for the money, and as a front room system component, it will not disappoint I think. My gripes come because I'm using it in my studio to monitor my mixes etc, and clean sound is paramount. Also worthy of note, I'm now using Kef Coda 7's instead of my old JBL Control 1's.

All in all, a worthy budget hifi amp.

I've teamed my Marantz PM-4200 audio amplifier with the higly acclaimed Marantz CD5400 CD player. The detail is excellent! The bass has plenty of weight, and the treble has a definite sparkle. With only 30w RMS per channel, don't be put off. The PM-4200 seems to have no problem with floor-standing speakers. My Wharfdale Diamond 9.4 sound great, and the amp never seems to be outmatched.

This amp definitely punches above its weight; so in conclusion, if you are on a tight budget like myself, you won't be disappointed by this amp!

The Marantz PM-4200 is a budget audio amplifier with clear and accurate sound reproduction. Ample power. Includes a phono connection.

The Marantz pm-4200 has good quality build and plenty of detail.not powerfull enough to run decent speakers.

The Marantz pm-4200 amplifier looks nice, sounds lovely. Got it running 2 B&W DM110's and a pair of Tannoy mercuries. Really thumps out the bass, sounds good for big orchestral pieces.

My Marantz pm-4200 amp is teamed up with a sony CDPXE520 and a pair of Monitor III's. the system sounds superb ... the amp is capable of transmiting every single bit of information to the speakers without a single bit of distortion along the wires (qunex). the speakers display everything that the amp is putting out to them as well... the bass reflex copes with the low end bass with the 13cm cone keeping a clean crisp sound all through the range... over-all this is proberbly more of a review for my system.. but the amp is the very centre...so it deserves a lot of the credit for such a superb sytem.
