Bought Used Megane Convertible 42000 Miles 1 Owner
Bought used megane convertible 42000 miles 1 owner, for £5000 3 weeks ago. the car was immaculate and drove lovely. then it rained.the car was parked outside my workplace and when i came out to go home the seat was soaked. got home and found leak coming from top of window where it meets the roof. reported back to garage where bought and they said they would book it into renault to fix for me the following week. in the mean time we had a fair bit of rain and i was still using it and noticed water coming in on passenger side now from same place also under the wing mirror into the car.anyway it went into renault who told my garage it was going to be a 2 man job of 8 hours to remove the roof and have all new rubbers replaced at a cost of 1400 pounds! my garage told me they were not prepared to pay for it so gave me a full refund and said they are going to send it into auction to get rid.thank goodness i had a 3 month warranty or that would have been an expensive mistake. shame cos the car was nice apart from that.lost confidence in convertibles now unless i could buy a new one. advice, make sure you check check check that roof before buying or get a warranty. oh and dont buy a blue one if your at an auction lol.

I Went Mad For A Megane Cc, Bought One, I Love It.
I went mad for a Megane CC, bought one, I love it. I looked at every internet site, at the problem's etc. I even went to a Renualt Garage and asked for answers to the many questions, I had seen on many sites.
Even the dreaded leaking roof, the answer I got on that one was. You NEVER part a CC on a path or curb uneven, with the roof down. As it bends the body, and when the roof is returned to its proper postion, it never goes back straight and your window seals are out of line with roof. That why they leak(I checked mine and its fine.) I got all the answers to all my questions. I went in to buying one with my eyes wide open, Its great looking car, I had angeleyes put in mine, looks Fab. I'd buy another one no problem. Mind it does help that my Hubby is a Car Mechanic.

Bought The Renault Megane Coupe Cabriolet Extreme
Bought the Renault Megane Coupe Cabriolet Extreme 1.6 VVT 115 may 06 a 53 plate, had endless problems but I still love the car. First the clutch pedal completely sheared off the rod just after 4months but warrant paid 500 bill. Had to replace timing belt at 5 years old although only done 42k miles but wouldnt take risk of damage 300 bill. Handbrake failed dad fixed it cable had come out due to tension of rear disc! Then dad was away and the hand brake went again, garage said caliper had to be replaced 200 bill the gas strutt went on the boot 100 bill and a clip missing 25 bill and then the wishbone 188 bill! guess what handbrake gone again and another caliper need on the rear side(i think garage originally replaced wrong one). then my dad had a look and there was a spring missing, guess what no need for a new caliper!!!! although ive had all this hassle I still love my car, and just hope it keeps going for a few more years. Got a new house so I don't need any more car repair bills. Looks good with hood up or down. absolutely love it and wouldn't want to swap it unless it was a new cabriolet. Back seat passengers complain about legroom, hubby doesnt like it! but thats a good point really.

If anyone else has had a problem with the roof imploding and completely shattering could you please let me know! I have a Megane Coupe-Cab year 2005 which I thought was a pretty good buy up until now!! Whilst on the motorway a couple of days ago and driving at speed I might add, I suddenly heard the loudest POP and BANG I have ever herd in my life. Once I finally raised my head from what sounded like a gun shot or bomb, I looked up to raining shattered glass trickling down my hat and face. Absolutely nothing had hit the roof; it completely shattered in a million pieces. All you Megane Coupe-Cabriolet drivers please be aware of this and if anyone else has come across this please please please come forward as surprise surprise Renault are taking absolutely no responsibility whatsoever - Guess who will be picking up the tab on this one?

My Renault Megane Coupe Cabriolet Extreme 1.6 Vvt
My Renault Megane Coupe Cabriolet Extreme 1.6 VVT 115 is an excellent little car with a touch of class. It took me a while to work out all the electronics! Mine is the Privilege version and the keyless entry a real bonus.
I read a lot of reviews before buying, and most said it tended to be a bit sluggish. I found it quite quick but obviously it's not a GT! It's one of the best cars I have owned, give one a try!

Overall, The Renault Megane Coupe Cabriolet Extrem
Overall, the Renault Megane Coupe Cabriolet Extreme 1.6 VVT 115 looks great but I think I've been very unlucky having bought one of the first delivered into the UK. The number of problems I have had may not reflect others' experience so don't be put off. It is a great second family car as the kids love the ride. Having said that, the car is not particularly quick so if you are looking for a sports car experience, it's probably not for you.

The Car Was Bought In June 2004, And Is A Megane C
The car was bought in June 2004, and is a Megane CC Dynamique (not Extreme) 1.6 VVT 115 with the (£900) 4-speed automatic. It is rather slow with this 'box, however.
On the good side, it looks great, especially roof down, which takes only 22 seconds and you only have to press one switch! Always draws a crowd.
The car is very comfy and fairly economical, however the backseat is unsuitable apart from short journeys. Think of it as extra bootspace, as it shrinks by about half when you drop the roof.
However, after a year-and-a-half, we have to report that the wheelarch liner fell off (minor, but caused a bit of inconvenience), and also the car is squeaking from the wheels, and the bootlid. As well as this, there is a slow drip of rain on the passenger side, where the roof meets the top of the windscreen. It only hits your leg, but gets annoying!
A visit to the dealer to cure the leak is imminent.
Don't let that put you off, though. The Megane CC is a lovely car, looks really nice, drives quite nicely, and always attracts nice comments from people.
