Owned Our 32pw6515 For 5 Years And Had To Call Eng
Owned our 32PW6515 for 5 years and had to call engineer out after 3 days for water lines on screen. Then the TV had to have a new micro processor a year later. Loud popping noise when changing channels after about 3 years. Now the tube has given up the ghost and will cost about £500 to repair so it's basically a write off and in the skip! Nice people at Philips did not want to know and said we should have bought extra cover.
So we've invested in Samsung now and will never own another Philips!

I Bought One Of These Widescreen Tvs 4 Years Ago F
I bought one of these Widescreen TVs 4 years ago for £820.00, and have had nothing but problems. Within the first year the 2nd Tube had gone and yes it has gone again this month. Also minor problems within the 4 years. I would never buy another Philips TV ever. I have 17 year old Sony that it still going strong, so will be buying another one of those this weekend.

I Bought My 32pw6515/05 On The Web In June 2002, S
I bought my 32PW6515/05 on the web in June 2002, since when we've been very happy until last month when a fault developed. Now, some time after being switched on the screen will go completely bright red with oscillating lines. Recorded output to video tape is OK, so it is just the screen. On looking up the purchase date I discovered it had just gone out of guarantee. I am dreading the repair cost. Grrr.

I Have This 32pw6515 For Just Over 2 Years. It Has
I have this 32PW6515 for just over 2 years. It has now developed a habit of going on strikes
It sometimes refuses to start. When I switch it on, the power light lit, but the screen remain black and silent. Under normal circumstances I will hear a cracking sound (from the tube?) when the screen become white. But when it is on strike, no sound is heard. The set was suspected to be interfered with my wireless broadband router from LinkSys, but it has been ruled out.
The only remedy I have discovered is to unplug the power and leave it for a few hours. But recently it has gone on strikes rather often, which is very annoying.
Anyone has the similar problems?

I Had The Same Problem. Just 10 Months Into Using
I had the same problem. Just 10 months into using my Philips 32PW6515, bright red & green stripes would appear on the screen. These would normally emerge when the TV was first put on, then depending what mood it was in, it would either try and correct itself straight away or not at all. I had this problem twice and it still played up.
Also I've notice a funny popping sound on certain channels when the volume was increased. Very Strange.....

I Thought Philips Would Have Solved The Problems W
I thought Philips would have solved the problems with the new model 6516. Nope. Picture curved strongly towards the center in 4:3 mode. In 16:9 chunks of picture were eaten out. And yes, there was an irritating sound when swithing channel.
After two visits to repairs picture geometrics got even worse. I went back to the shop, and got Panasonic 28 inch PL1 instead and have been happy ever after (except poor teletext!)

I Bought The Tv, Brand New From An Auction House 2
I bought the TV, Brand New from an Auction house 2 weeks ago, for £250! "no that`s not a misprint" plus taxes it came to around £320. I bought it to replace a 28"W/S philips I had had for about 4 years ( I sold the 28"W/S for £250 in a private sale, Hee! Hee!.)And as for the pops as some people are calling them, haven`t happened to me
since I swapped the positions of the cordless S/Speakers. I guess the Active Speaker has to be in a good position to receive the signals?, anyway it worked for me.
I must say it`s a big improvement on the older W/S sets, my old 28" used to bug me to death with it switching to 4:3 all the time, Arrrggghh!. The New 32" W/s has`nt got this problem! so at the moment every thing is hunky dory.
Hope this helps

I Was Reluctant To Purchase It Initially Since I
I was reluctant to purchase it initially since I heard so much about this alleged humming noise. However much to my relief my set seems to be fine. There is no channel pop or interference from the subwoofer. There are several features-you can adjust the picture quality and sound using presets or manually, you can adjust the viewing area and dimension. Vitual dolby will never be like pro logic seperate speakers but the sound from integrated speakers is more than satisfying.

I Bought My Tv In May 2002 From Currys And Noticed
I bought my TV in May 2002 from Currys and noticed a low hum emitting from rear speakers. It was also prominent when the Sky Banner appears on screen. I've had 5 engineers out who have failed to diagnose the problem. Currys will not give me a refund or exchange - customer service very poor. I have also got the Trading Standards involved and will be taking Currys to the Small Claims Court.

I Purchased My Philips Pw6515 32" Widescreen Tv Fr
I purchased my Philips PW6515 32" widescreen TV from PowerHouse who now want nothing to do with as they say that it is operating under manufacturers specification and their engineers say that the hum is an inherent fault with this particular model (the pop apparently is a faulty valve?)
The reason given for the hum is interference on an internal cable (this is the reply given to PowerHouse from Philips)
I have since spoken to an ex-employee of Philips who says that the fault stems from some electromagnets being loose and vibrating (their main purpose is to keep the picture level)
All I want now is either a refund or replacement (different make) but Power House are unwilling to do either so I'm having to get trading standards involved.
