Sound Quality Is Excellent On This Jazpiper Mvr64p

Sound quality is excellent on this jazpiper mvr64p portable MP3 player. I have had it playing songs of many different bitrates and its happy with all i've used. The design is stylish and classic. As an older player, it was cheap (£79) and with a 64meg smartmedia expansion holds 128 megs of songs, about 32 tracks at 128 quality.

The player incorporates bass and treble control, 3d sound, dsp settings, a digital fm radio and voice recording, as well as a telephone book facility (that I've never used). This would be a great player but for 1 issue; if you reorder the songs in the player using the desktop software (jazpiper desk 1.1.1.1), bass and treble settings are moved to -9, and 3d surround sound is switched off. In addition radio presets are lost, all to major annoyance. this is the second jazpiper i have owned, the first did the exact same thing. Technical support is very poor in that they never reply to any emails.

Unless you buy an extra printer port, it's annoying to have to unplug the printer each time you want to download songs to the player.

On the plus side, the voice recording facility is very useful for lectures ect, if you clear out all the songs you get 4 hours of recording (8 if you get 64 meg smarmedia). all in all an affordable, versitile player with great looks and one flaw that lets it down big time.
